      Customer Complaint:
The customer reported an oil leak near the turbocharger area.

      Vehicle Details:

      • Make: BMW
      • Model: 116i F20
      • Year: 2014
      • Engine: N13

      Diagnostic Process:

      1. Initial Inspection:

        • Confirmed the oil leak was originating from the turbocharger area.
        • Found oil dripping near the turbo drain pipe and pooling beneath the turbo assembly.
      2. Detailed Component Inspection:

        • Turbo Drain Pipe O-Ring:
          • Observed the O-ring on the turbo drain pipe was worn and leaking oil.
        • Coolant Breather Line:
          • Detected oil contamination on the coolant breather line situated under the turbo, causing the line to degrade.
        • Rocker Cover Gasket:
          • Identified an additional oil leak from the rocker cover gasket.
      3. Leak Analysis:

        • The oil leak from the turbo drain pipe O-ring was flowing down and damaging the coolant breather line.
        • The rocker cover gasket leak was contributing to oil seepage around the engine.

      Repair Process:

      1. Turbo Drain Pipe O-Ring Replacement:

        • Removed the turbo drain pipe.
        • Replaced the damaged O-ring with a new one to eliminate the leak at the drain point.
      2. Coolant Breather Line Replacement:

        • Replaced the damaged coolant breather line to prevent future issues and ensure proper coolant system functionality.
      3. Rocker Cover Gasket Replacement:

        • Removed the rocker cover.
        • Installed a new gasket to resolve the oil leak from the top of the engine.
      4. Post-Repair Clean-Up and Testing:

        • Cleaned the engine bay to remove residual oil.
        • Conducted a pressure test on the coolant system to ensure the new breather line was functioning correctly.
        • Performed a road test to confirm there were no further oil leaks.

      Outcome:
The repairs successfully resolved all oil leaks. The turbo drain pipe O-ring, coolant breather line, and rocker cover gasket were replaced, restoring the engine’s integrity and performance.

      Key Takeaways:

      • Oil leaks can have cascading effects, damaging other components such as coolant lines.
      • Timely inspection and replacement of critical gaskets and seals prevent further engine damage.
      • Comprehensive post-repair testing ensures reliability and customer satisfaction.
